Next week on wednesday, its my last day of the school. in past one year, i work in hell and always bust myself to finished the work on time. it was a pretty good experience just like in the real world working. The work for me always needs good quality and on-time deliver. beside that means nothing. From the class i learned about team work and also the unexpect issue happened. i felt the stress for the deadline and the delay deliever work. it teach me always have a backup plan and find the solution right away. moving forward and don’t look back. cheers!!

industry night

about two weeks after, its our day to shine that is “industry night.” Last year, around the same peroid i attened the last grad’s industry night. their portfolio was impress me so much. everyone has their feature of the work. at the time i thoguht its impossible to make such good work in one year program. Now, everything is possible because i learns tons of different courses in the short period. i hope i could build up the network in the industry and find a job to start up.

Interview

Last week i had interview with teacher. that was a really good experience. i reallize when i talk to people, if i am not confident enough and my words will only speaking in my mouse which people can’t really hear what my words. To improve this disavantage is to practice what you are going to present and prepare completly. Sometime, i talked too fast without thinking that gives a negative effect because i did not think of the question properly and give a best response. Because of the interview experience, that let me know my mistake and i would be able to avoid next time.

Porfolio presentation

Today is the portfolio day. See everyone tired face in the morning just like me. i didnt sleep much in this week, i was working on the portfolio project also prepare for two presentation. Today is a big day, after the presetation i about relase to fly. From the presetataion, i see everyone has their own specialties and the direction they are heading to; i believe they spend lots of time on work for today. Time flies, everyone present their work on and on. At 2:30, it’s my time to shine, i walk on the stage introduce myself and start introduce my work. seems everyone really enjoy my video work when i finished. I am done for the day, its time to have a lil rest.

New business card +logo

its a new start with a new logo and new design of business card. it took me couple ours to design the logo and the color of the background of the business card. I believe the business card is really important is that card is a identy and the profession. Now is going to the testing process see if the printing is turn it out good. Im really confident about my design and hope people will like it aswell.

meeting with client

tonight i had a meeting with the preticum guy. he was pretending as a client and i was represent as a freelencer. During the meeting, he was playing tough with lots of questions and throw it to me. I was focus on his questions and miss some detial of it. This is first time ever had such experience to the client. It was helpful becuase the guy pointed out my weakness. He talked about his passed experieces about meeting clients. I learned a lot today and I enjoyed.

Time pressure

The day before yesterday i received an email from the precticum guy. He send 6 packages of the photos around 76 pieces.

At the time i wasn’t rush, and thought i had time to finished it until next Monday.

Yesterday, i got a call from him said the work has to be done by tonight 12p.m. That was kind of impossible to finished work in shortly.

He said the client was in hurry so i have to get the work done before mid-night.

I made it. But i believe i can do better quality job if i have more time.

This Monday i had a interview with a freelancer in the coffeeshop. The interview was about an hour long and i was facing to the realistic situation. I found it stress because i was afrraid i wasnt good enough to work for him. We also discuss about how did i get into this program and how do i like about New Media. Last, he asked about what is my future plan in three years. I have never think of this question because im a just a freshman into the field, i realized i had to take sometime to think about this.

Today i started design my portfolio website. It took about half hour to come up the design concept and the organization of the site plan.I found it challenge on the first step “plan”. but after that just follow through the plan to build on the site. Therefore, i started working on my design and looking for sources. also, i applyed for preticum and it is a freelancer as i expected. I believe it would help me learn more about how the company run and the technique they use. they call me up for the interview next monday and i cannot wait.

First day-Drupal

Today, I had found a new way to build a website. It is an open source program call “Drupal”. It has build-in functions in there. As the Drupal developer, just has to customize the setting and its ready to launch it. I can say it is a big advantage for web developer to work on website. Normally, developers will hand coding on site, but Drupal is different. It could save lots of time on coding because it already coded. Drupal also can set up the user accessibility, which the customers can easily edit the basic function of the site. I believe the open source program will be the tred in media society. Now, i need more time to get hand on the program and improve my knowledge of Drupal as much as possible. It is a big achieve for my first day experience.
